Frequently asked questions.
What is applied F&I coaching?
Applied coaching is hands-on reinforcement that turns F&I training into daily behavior. Through weekly recorded role-play, monthly on-site visits, and quarterly principal reviews, a coach observes real deals, gives specific feedback, and holds the team accountable until the skills become automatic.
Why is training alone not enough?
Training builds knowledge, but knowledge does not change behavior on its own. A manager can watch every module and still revert to old habits at the desk under pressure. Coaching is the bridge that makes the new skill automatic, which is why we pair the two on purpose.
How does coaching turn knowledge into behavior?
By practicing the hard moments before they happen, observing the real menu walk, correcting in the moment, and repeating until the skill holds up. Recorded role-play lets a producer re-watch their own delivery, and written commitments keep the change accountable between visits.
How often does coaching happen?
A typical cadence is a 30-minute virtual role-play each week, a half-day on-site visit each month, a quarterly KPI review with the principal, and an annual reset. The rhythm is tailored to the store, but consistency over time is the point.
What happens during an on-site coaching visit?
A full day on your floor: live menu walks observed for every producer, deal jackets audited against compliance, one-on-one role-play with each F&I manager, a manager and director coaching session, and a written debrief delivered to the principal within 24 hours.
Are coaching sessions recorded?
Yes. Recording the role-play is the secret to faster improvement. Producers learn more when they can re-watch their own delivery, and directors coach more efficiently when they can pull up the exact moment. Recordings live in the training library.
How is coaching different from the training process?
The process is the full loop of discover, train, coach, measure, and adapt. Coaching is the step that applies the training to real deals. Training supplies the knowledge; coaching converts it into execution and habit. The two are designed to work together.
How do we get started?
It begins with a conversation about your current F&I performance. From there we set the coaching cadence around your store and start turning training into measurable behavior. Contact Elite FI Partners to begin.
