The New Normal

Most of us are not able to return to work at this moment and are sitting at home wondering what will become the new normal. When we return will people wearing face masks and gloves be considered normal? And for how long will this be the new standard? How will everyone respond to being back out in stores and back at public events where there are crowds of people? At this point, most of us know that we will find our way back to what feels normal however, that won't be what we considered normal previously. Conditions that we use to take for granted like touching a door handle, shaking someone's hand, just being close to someone are now front and center in all of our minds. Now is the time to prepare for this reality!

Showing people that you are concerned about their safety and well being is a major priority. It used to be that just covering your mouth when you coughed or sneezed was proper. Now that is not enough. The new normal is to go above and beyond. If you have been to a Target or Costco in the last couple of days you will more than likely see employees disinfecting registers after every customer checks out. You will see the line or marks on the floor telling you where to stand to make sure that you do not get too close to the people in front or behind you. This is the new normal. We now live in a world where showing people that you care about their safety & that the places you expect people to go are sanitized and clean.

As a dealer how do we do this? Our work environment has to be held to the same standard. We have to take steps to clean everything that we come into contact with. This is also true with our inventory. Showing our customers that we are willing to sanitize and clean our inventory is now as important as the safety inspection most dealerships do.
